Abstract
Summary A description of a posterior transsphincteric operation for the removal of certain rectal tumors has been presented. This operation restores normal physiologic function in a very short time. It is not recommended that this procedure be used in the routine treatment of all cases of carcinoma of the rectum. Keywords
