Abstract
Transmission electron micrographs of [human] platelets activated by ADP and thrombin, using a tannic acid/fixative stain, reveal lamellar bodies. The concentric laminar organelles of type II pneumocytes show similar ultrastructural characteristics when treated with tannic acid.
