DDT as a Residual Spray for the Control of Bedbugs1

Abstract
Sprays and dusts containing DDT were highly effective in controlling bedbugs, Cimex lectularius and C. hemipterus, in jar, cage, and practical tests. Although a number of effective solvents and concs. of DDT have been found, 5% in crude kerosene is probably the most satisfactory to use and can be expected to give complete mortality for a longer period if applied in the form of a coarse spray using at least 100 mg. of DDT per sq. ft.
