Squamuloderma: A New Genus of Myxomycetes

Abstract
SUMMARY A new myxomycete, Squamuloderma nullifila, obtained from cow dung placed in a damp chamber, is characterized by the presence of crystalline lime in the peridium and the lack of a capillitium. The species appears to be most closely related to the genus Didymium in the Physarales. As none of the known genera encompass this particular set of characteristics, a new genus is established for it.
