Abstract
Nitriles react with sodium hydrogen selenide, pyridine and hydrochloric acid in ethanol to give primary aryl and alkyl selenocarboxamides. The alkyl selenocarboxamides are converted into selenazoles by reaction with phenacyl bromide.Keywords
