Decrease in Lactic Acid Content of the Brain in Poliomyelitis

Abstract
Young Swiss albino mice were inoculated intracerebrally with a 10% suspension of central nervous tissue from mice infected with the Lansing strain of poliomyelitis virus. After paralysis, their brains were removed and the lactic acid content was detd. and compared with that of normal mice. Lactic acid is significantly decreased in the infected mice.
