Abstract
The combination of neuroleptanalgesia with topical anesthesia, consisting of the administration of a single dose of droperidol and fractional doses of fentanyl, gave excellent operating conditions for bronchoscopy and esophagoscopy in 86 patients. This method eliminates the disadvantage (need for controlled ventilation) and retains the advantages (ease of operation, patient comfort) of general anesthesia. The results obtained were highly satisfactory both from the endoscopists' and patients' points of view. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
