Abstract
We treat theoretically the simultaneous two-photon absorption and sum-frequency generation associated with exciton polaritons in noncentrosymmetric crystals. Expressions are derived for the two-photon absorption coefficient and for the intensity of the polariton beam. We describe the symmetry properties of two-photon absorption by longitudinal excitons and by transverse polaritons. Keywords
