Abstract
Megavolt electrons striking a high-Z anode/bremsstrahlung X-ray converter anode are partially reflected into the anode-cathode gap of the diode. The diode charge density is higher than without reflection, and the current density is lower. A quantitative estimate for one-dimensional flow yields a reduction from Child–Langmuir by up to 25% for unipolar flow. For bipolar flow, the ion current can increase twofold. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
