Abstract
A new instrument for measuring consensus in small decision making groups is developed. The instrument is based on mathematical procedures from the theory of fuzzy sets. A pilot study is reported in which the instrument was applied to eight classroom groups. Implications of this new measuring instrument for future research in group decision making are outlined. Keywords
