Abstract
A continuing case study highlighting one extended family was used with generic and RN baccalaureate nursing students to integrate basic nursing concepts, nursing theory, and health assessment content in an integrated curriculum. Unlike traditional case studies, the continuing case study allowed people and health states to change over time, providing a new dimension to case analysis. This method facilitated the application of theory to practice situations and helped students to understand the dynamics of family health. Keywords
