Abstract
Fifty patients born on an even date were thus treated, while 54 patients born on an uneven date were used as control subjects. During the 1st 3 days after admission to the hospital 500 cc of a 30% glucose solution with 40 meq KC1 and 23 LU. standard insulin were given daily during 4-6 hr. No significant decrease in mortality was found in the treatment group. Nor does the therapy show any distinct effect upon the rate of rhythm and/or conduction disturbances even if certain observations suggest that in some cases with arrhythmias this therapy is of value. No change in the rate of myocardial rupture was observed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
