FRUCTOSURIA: REPORT OF A CASE

Abstract
An instance of levulosuria is described in a soldier who had spontaneous melituria. Five glucose loading tests failed to provoke hyperglycemia. Fermentation, polar-imetric, resorcinol-HC1 and oral levulose tolerance tests confirmed the fructosuria. Postabsorptive fructosemia and fructosuria set this case apart from so-called "essential fructosurias", where the excretion of fructose is dependent upon and proportional to, its intake.
