A Note on Taylor Instability in Circular Couette Flow

Abstract
The problem of Taylor instability is reexamined, and it is shown that the effect of geometry (radius ratio) can be very nearly suppressed by a proper choice of variables. The two cases of cylinders rotating in the same direction and in opposite directions are treated separately.Keywords
