Abstract
Several enhancements to the SIMPLE algorithm are reviewed, and a new fully implicit solution algorithm (FIMOSE) is introduced. The relative performance of all solution methods is evaluated for three flow problems. The results tend to confirm previously reported findings. It is found that FIMOSE has an essentially unique under-relaxation parameter or distorted time step multiple that is neither grid nor problem dependent. Keywords
