An H2(D2)/F2Chemical Laser Initiated with a Novel Teflon Surface Spark UV Flash

Abstract
In this paper, the performance characteristics and the optimization parameters of a new type of photoinitiated HF (DF) laser with a surface spark UV flash using Teflon are presented. We obtained an output energy of 0.65 J (11 J/1, 1.6 µs FWHM) for HF laser, and 0.25 J (4.2 J/1, 2.0 µs FWHM) for DF laser with improved maintenance of light sources. The practical use and possibilities of these new initiation light sources are also discussed.
