Abstract
Conflicting literature data on sex difference in wing lengths of Emberiza calandra provoked the measurement of winglengths in corn buntings in the British Museum (Natural History) collection using the maximum chord method. The reported overlap (Dementiev and Gladkov, 1954) was probably caused by wrong sexing of birds. The measurements agreed well with those of Follows (1969) in that birds with slight overlap and with wing span > 95 mm were males, while those < 95 mm were females. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
