Abstract
The modification of Pratt's technique used by the author appears to give a high percentage of good results its fresh ruptures and to provide a useful finger, occasionally even a normal finger, in older ruptures. It will probably give better results than open operation in the older ruptures, unless the surgeon is especially skilled and experienced in the treatment of this condition.
