Abstract
LIVER granulomas1 2 3 and impaired delayed-type hypersensitivity2 are common in primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). This report concerns two cases of PBC with widespread granulomas and other findings that have invited comparison between the clinical, histologic and immunologic features of PBC and sarcoidosis.Case ReportsCase 1. Pruritus developed in a 41-year-old housewife in December, 1965, while she was 3 months pregnant. Jaundice followed in February, 1966, and persisted after the delivery of a healthy infant. She was admitted to the hospital in July, 1966, for investigation. The clinical and laboratory findings are summarized in Table 1. Liver biopsy showed Stage 3 PBC. . . .Keywords
