Abstract
In a survey of 341 patients with hypertension, a cause of heart failure in addition to hypertension was found in all but 3% (10). Ischemic heart disease precipitated heart failure in half the patients; other important causes were valvular heart disease, renal disease, and malignant hypertension and respiratory infections. Keywords
