Abstract
The transient penetration of an electromagnetic plane wave into the cavity formed by an imperfectly conducting spherical shell is considered. The response at the cavity center to a Gaussian input pulse is compared with other published results. The treatment is then extended to other interior locations. Finally, a ’’band−limited’’ impulse response is determined and numerical results are given at several cavity locations for an aluminum shell of various thicknesses. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
