Abstract
Associated Medical ConditionsTable 1 summarizes the significant medical conditions found in 132 patients admitted with severe epistaxis.More than 50 per cent of the patients had at least one of these conditions, and some suffered from more than one. Many of these patients were not known to have a significant medical problem at the time of admission; most of these diagnoses were made by a routine, but careful, medical evaluation. A diagnosis of hypertension was made only if the blood pressure remained elevated during the hospital course or if there were other signs of hypertension such as hypertrophy of the left . . .Keywords
