Design of FIR Hilbert transformers and differentiators by eigenfilter

Abstract
The design of Hilbert transformers and differentiators by eigenfilters is presented. The filter coefficients are computed from an eigenvector of an appropriate real, symmetric, and positive-definite matrix. The method is simple, and the performance is better than that of McClellan-Parks algorithm. The design time is fast and comparable for filter length less than one hundred.
