Abstract
The transport polarity of C14-methylene-labeled indoleacetic acid (IAA-C14) in stem sections of C. blumei was examined. IAA-C14 was applied in donor blocks of agar to one end of the tissues. Transport activity in the tissues and in receiver blocks was measured after 3 hours. The IAA -C14 in the receiver blocks was resolved chromato-graphically. IAA-C14 was found to be transportedacropetally as well as basipetally in both vegetative and flowering stem sections. A ratio of 3 between basipetal and acropetal transportrates was observed for vegetative stem. After the initiation of flowering this ratio changed to 1.3.This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
