Quantum dots in graphene

Abstract
We propose a method of creation of quasi-bound electron states in electrostatically gated graphene strip. Properties of such a graphene quantum dot are investigated theoretically for different types of boundary conditions at the edge of the strip. The existence of quasi-bound states is robust in all cases, whereas the behavior of the conductance as a function of the gate voltage carries an information about the type of the graphene edge.
