Abstract
Diazepam, a tranquilizer, was applied to ear corn during 1964, 1965, and 1966, and resulted in 29 captures of wild white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in Pope and Johnson counties, Illinois. Sedated deer were manually restrained to effect their capture. Ni-cotine alkaloids introduced with a syringe dart were used to im-mobilize 13 deer which attempted to escape. Fifteen deer did escape. Four pregnant does, 2 of which had received injections of nicotine alkaloids, died without recovering from sedation. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
