Abstract
This article addresses considerations of bringing applied marketing information system development to the classroom. Information systems are destined to become one of the most discussed academic topics in the 1980s. The knowledge transfer from the descriptive to the applied is not easily accomplished in the classroom, but the prospect of simulations is one which marketing educators can no longer afford to avoid. This article discusses the concepts and problems inherent in an attempt to establish a novel course in marketing information systems.
