Abstract
The average energy of the electrons produced in anthracene scintillators by -rays in the energy range from 0.28 to 2.76 Mev is determined experimentally. The values obtained are in good agreement with theory. Above 1 Mev -ray energy, crystal size is shown to be of importance due to leakage of high energy electrons from the crystal surfaces.
