Abstract
Calcified lesions as demonstrated by x-ray are present in a greater proportion of individuals in Williamson County, Tenn., than has been reported in other parts of the country. In a group of 573 children, tuberculin tested and x-rayed on 2 separate occasions, lesions were demonstrable in 373. A majority of these lesions are present by the time the child enters school. In school children, however, there is little association between these calcifications and the tuberculin reaction. Although these lesions may have little clinical significance, if they are tuberculous in origin, they would be of definite epidemiological importance in any attempt to estimate the prevalence of tuberculous infection in this area. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
