Abstract
In recent years, there has been a shift in cancer treatment sites, from university-based to community settings. Approximately 85% of cancer patients are now diagnosed and treated in community hospitals. This change has been accompanied by an expansion of oncology services and specialists. One method that has increased communication and knowledge among departments providing oncology services, has been the Oncology Multidisciplinary Conference. This paper provides practical guidelines for establishing and maintaining such a group in a community hospital.
