Abstract
Three aqueous solutions of NiCl2 with a constant concentration in Ni2+ and increasing Cl−/Ni2+ ratios were examined by EXAFS spectroscopy. Fourier transforms of the experimental data give evidence of the increasing complex formation between Ni2+ and Cl− ions. A quantitative analysis of this phenomenon is also attempted, based on the interpretation of Fourier filtered EXAFS spectra. Keywords
