Protection Against Guinea Pig Hepatomas by Pretreatment With Subcelluar Fractions of Mycobacterium bovis (BCG)2

Abstract
A methanol-extraction residue and a supernatant of sonically disrupted cells were derived from killed BCG. Pretreatment with these substances prevented progressive development of line-10 hepatocarcinoma in a significant proportion of syngeneic strain-2 Sewall-Wright guinea pigs challenged with sufficient neoplastic cells to cause fatal disease in all the controls.
