Abstract
Chlordiazepoxide is highly effective in reducing the frequency of epileptic seizures, regardless of their form or predisposing cause. Given continuously over a median period of 25 months, in daily dosage of 30 mg, chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride resulted in sustained reduction in frequency or cessation of seizures in 21 of 28 patients with seizures of various form and cause. Before receiving chlordiazepoxide, 24 patients had received two or more antiseizure drugs without adequate seizure control. In therapeutically effective dosage, chlordiazepoxide produced no serious side effects. Keywords
