Abstract
We extend the Skyrme model to incorporate the vector mesons and in a way consistent with the non-Abelian anomalies of QCD and vector-meson dominance. The vector mesons are treated as composite gauge bosons of a hidden symmetry. We investigate the bulk properties of hedgehog-type Skyrme solitons in the baryon number sector of this model.
