Abstract
Y. enterocolitica strains (290) were tested for sensitivity in 20 chemotherapeutics. All strains were isolated from human fecal specimens in Czechoslovakia. Strains were homologous as they belonged to serological group 3 according to Winblad or IA according to Knapp and Thal; they also belonged to biotype 4 according to Nilehn. They showed quite different patterns of sensitivity to chemotherapeutics. Many strains had a high level of resistance to antibiotics. It was not possible to transfer their resistance to the sensitive Escherichia coli K12 strain. All the strains produced .beta. lactamase.
