Abstract
Drip infusion of a large volume of dilute contrast material has proved a simple, safe, and reliable technic for obtaining high quality intravenous pyelograms. Its excellence is dependent on hydration, diuresis, and complete filling of the urinary tract. The anatomic detail achieved makes retrograde pyelography unnecessary in most cases. Its value in problems of uretpral visualization and in cases of chronic renal failure, as well as its adaptations to the study of renovascular hypertension, renal masses (modified nephrotomography), and bladder and urethral abnormalities (voiding cystourethrography), are discussed. Keywords
