Abstract
Recently agmatine, decarboxylated arginine, has been shown to be an important biological compound in several animal tissues. This paper summarizes the known information regarding the transport of arginine, its decarboxylation and the effects of the agmatine formed mainly on NO and polyamine synthesis. Keywords
