Serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) isoenzymes after intramuscular injections, surgery, and myocardial infarction: Experimental and clinical studies

Abstract
Serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) elevations after surgery and intramuscular injections were distinguished from those occurring after acute myocardial infarction by isoenzyme analysis with a new sensitive technique. Two CPK isoenzymes were consistently seen after myocardial infarction in experimental animals and patients, while only one was seen after intramuscular injections or surgery.
