Abstract
The disruptive impact of anxiety reactions on performance is described in three case reports. Brief hypnotherapeutic interventions were based on the manner in which an anxiety state dominated a person's coping ability. Interventions either buttressed a faltering coping ability by recruiting other coping states or by reconstructing (transforming) earlier distressing events which led to the anxiety state. Combinations of these interventions resulted in the restoration of anxiety-free functioning. Keywords
