Abstract
The effects of LiCl on social aggregation were observed using 240 goldfish in pairs. Aggregation was reduced between 2 fish when both had received Li treatment. When 24 fish were investigated in groups of 3, maximal disruption of aggregation occurred when all 3 fish were Li treated, but partial social disruption occurred following Li treatment of 2 out of 3 fish. The results are interpreted in terms of a possible Li-induced impairment of central processing of the sensory stimuli responsible for eliciting social following responses. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
