Abstract
Gastrojejunal mucosal prolapse, following subtotal gastrectomy, occurs and is radiologically demonstrable. Nine cases of this newly identified entity are presented. In one case gastrojejunal mucosal prolapse was the cause of bleeding. Possible relationship to gastric obstruction is discussed. Cases presented with bleeding, "dumping syndrome," heartburn, "nine day disease," and no symptoms. The radiologic features of note are stretching of gastric mucosa, variable stomal size, and a jejunal filling defect. The radiologic entity has been reproduced in a dog with an artificially created gastrojejunal mucosal prolapse. A firmer understanding of the clinical importance of this entity will come only after a larger number of cases have been clinically evaluated. Keywords
