Influence of atomic ordering on the spin waves in Ni0.75Fe0.25alloy

Abstract
The influence of atomic ordering on the spin waves in Ni0.75Fe0.25 alloy was investigated by inelastic neutron scattering. The spin wave stiffness constant D for the annealed, quenched and 'as grown' samples was measured. Surprisingly high sensitivity of D to atomic ordering, amounting to a 30% increase, is demonstrated.
