Abstract
The root systems of a range of New Zealand hill country white clovers grown as spaced plants in the field were compared with cultivars of known root and shoot type. The hill country white clovers resembled Kent wild white and S.1 00 N omark in having few large taproots, but the amount of fibrous root was similar in all types. Hill country clones collected from sunny faces had more fibrous roots and fewer large taproots than those from shady faces. Keywords
