Book and Software Review

Abstract
In this column, Windy Schweder, doctoral student at the University of South Carolina has reviewed the possibilities of wearable technology for persons with disabilities. Ms. Schweder became interested in wearable technology in 1999 and pursued the use of it as a study for her dissertation. In Spring 2000, she submitted a grant to Xybernaut ( http://www.xybernaut.com ) for the study of wearable computer and multimedia technologies. In Fall 2000, she was provided a MA IV Deluxe computer. Given the futurist nature of wearable technology, I asked Ms. Schweder to discuss wearable technology and compare it to personal digital assistants (PDAs).
