Abstract
In the acute phase of Leber optic neuropathy, there are three characteristic fundus changes: (1) circumpapillary telangiectatic microangiopathy, (2) swelling of the nerve fiber layer around the disc ("pseudoedema"), and (3) absence of staining on fluorescein angiography. These findings are illustrated by eight cases and in our experience are pathognomonic for this disease. Keywords
