Abstract
A necessary and sufficient condition that a nonlinear system, with control appearing linearly, be dynamically equivalent to an observable bilinear system is derived. When the condition is satisfied, a procedure to construct an observability canonical form of such a bilinear system is provided in the proof of the sufficiency part of the condition. Keywords
