Abstract
Individuals heterozygous for the reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 5B and 7B, found in the wheat [Triticum aestivum] variety "Poso," produce a high proportion (8 in a sample of 21) of gametes involving duplication and deficiency of segments of these chromosomes. In crosses with Aegilops peregrina it was determined that these gametes are usually not deficient for the segment of the long arm of chromosome 5B that suppresses homologous pairing. Translocation aneuploid stocks are being produced which can be expected to give rise to a high degree of wheat-alien pairing. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
