Abstract
A new modified, semi-automated method for triglyceride assay is described. The sampling rate is rapid (60/h) with acceptable inter-sample wash. Color and triglyceride concentration are linearly related up to 500 mg/dl. The modifications were: heated reactions were eliminated, a short Kel-F coil was used for transesterification, arrangements were made for simultaneous debubbling and phase separating. Both comparison with another semi-automated procedure and recovery values indicate the acceptability of this proposed method for use in routine clinical laboratories.
