Abstract
Acetone powders from human gastric mucosa showed urease activity in aqueous suspension (temp. opt., 50[degree]C; pH opt., 7.2-7.6, depending on urea concn.; Cu++ and Co++ inhibit). The urease is more concd, in the fundus than in the pylorus. Duodenum, jejunum, ileum and kidney did not show urease activity. Colon mucosa and liver extract occasionally show slight activity. The significance of gastric urease is discussed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
