Abstract
The biological activities of the lipopolysaccharide and the lipid A of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus were investigated. Although the lipid A of A. calcoaceticus exhibits unusual features in its chemical composition, its toxic and other biological properties are similar to those of enterobacterial endotoxin.
